Charity video production can come in all shapes and sizes. This one was produced for Turning Point Scotland from a long way up, 150 feet to be precise! We were there to capture the day with an HD camcorder and a GoPro camera.

Sixteen staff and service users were raising money for  Turning Point Scotland‘s Make It Happen Fund. The money is used towards projects that will help service users follow their dreams and aspirations.

The weather was appalling on the morning of the abseil so Woods Noble Media had invested in new waterproof trousers. We wanted to get a real sense of what it’s like to propel yourself off the Titan Crane so the trusty Go Pro came into play to produce video from the abseiler’s perspective. We mounted it on a willing volunteer using a helmet strap.

Those abseiling battled against the wind and rain, but everyone got down with lots of support. We got lots of great action shots despite some rain drops on the camera lens. The video footage from the GoPro lets the viewer go up in the lift inside the crane and there is a stomach lurching moment as the camera goes over the edge!

Charity videos of events are a great way for people to see another side to the work that you do and are fun to watch. Turning Point Scotland have been able to use this video on social media to raise their profile and publicise similar events since.
